If I pay to make use of state hospitals, does this count as medical expenses?

Hi, I am not on a medical aid, but have paid privately to have some tests done and have also paid a fee at a state hospital according to my earnings. If I have the receipts do these count as deductions?

You can include these in your ITR12 income tax return under expenses not covered by medical aid. Please read our article on how Medical Tax Credits work.
