I wanted to know if my divorce settlement is taxed?

Hi, I got divorced last year and I got 50% of his money since we were married in community of property. When I went to claim it I was told I had to pay tax on it, but I never got any paper document of the amount to be taxed, I only got the IT150 paper.

Who told you that the amount would be taxed? Divorce settlements are not subject to tax.
