I have been working as a guide in the tourism industry for the past year or two. I did not get a payslip just money paid into my account, I also get cash tips from time to time. I have a tax number as previous I worked in the bigger company. How do I go about paying outstanding tax if there is any without getting trouble from SARS?

Why do you not get a payslip? Does the company take off tax each month?

Hi, I think it is becuase im a freelance guide not a permanet staff member. and I dont think taxes are taken off no.

You would then need to add up these amounts and reflect that on your income tax return - you will be able to deduct all the work related expenditure you have as well.

Register for TaxTim and let us help you answer all the questions and submit your return to SARS.
