I do not have any supporting documents

Hi Tim

I have started submitting my Tax in 2012. Now they asked for 2011. I was only working about 6 months in 2011. When I called my previous employer he said he cant give me any documents as he has lost it all in a robbery. SARS is asking for supporting documents for 2011 and I don't have anything (not even medical aid etc).
What do I do ?

Thank you
Lara

Your medical aid company should be able to resend your Medical Aid Certificate to you for the 2011 year. You can write a letter to SARS telling them of your story and they may request you to write an Affidavit. You can include this under the "Documents for review". Alternately you can ask the company that was performing the payroll function for your previous employer (if one existed).
