Donations between spouses, are they taxable?

Are donations between spouses, in the form of a regular allowance or a lump sum, taxable? Please advise the position for each spouse if possible. And does the receiving spouse need to declare under 'amounts not considered taxable' on ITR12?

All transfers between spouses are exempt from tax so you need not worry about paying any taxes.

Thanks for info - do declarations under 'amounts not considered taxable' on ITR12 need to be done?

In theory yes you should complete this section and include the amount of the transfer you received.
