I pay monthly amounts from my bank account for a medical aid for my mom. The medical aid is in her name though. Can I put these contributions on my tax return. If yes where will it be entered on SARS eFiling?

Is your mom financially dependent on you?

Yes, she lives with me and she can't afford her monthly medical bill

Yes, you can then enter her medical amounts. Add it to the number of dependents and then add the amount spent to 4040 on your tax return.

Only a pleasure! If SARS asks for proof then you need to submit a letter stating why you pay for her medical aid.
