Are private medical expenses especially in terms of drug treatment a tax deduction?

I recently attended an out-patient drug treatment programme at personal cost roughly equal to 1-month's salary. Is there any tax deduction for this non-medical scheme related expense?

Was this prescribed by a medical heath professional or was the clinic/programme registered with any medical authority? This can be deducted as long as SARS approve the treatment facility or program.
