Hello, I will be working abroad for a year and upon my return would like to buy a house, what is the tax implication for this? as I would have been tax exempt being out of the country for a year.

The money earned whilst being gone from South Africa for more than 183 days (of which 60 of them must be continuous) will be tax free and you are free to bring it back into SA and purchase a home with no adverse consequences.
