TaxTim says: 29 July 2013 at 15:21 You can claim the repairs as an expense against the rental income, however you would need to apportion the expenses based on some factor such as the percentage of the year that the apartment is rented out vs used by you or just standing empty. SARS may question the full deduction given you do not actively rent the apartment out on an ongoing basis for the purposes of earning income. |
