What is a additional assessment from SARS?

I did my eFiling as usual,then I got a ITA34 which said that they owe me money, then they requested that I give them the supporting documents, which I handed in at the SARS offices. I phoned them after a couple of days because they said that I will receive a notification within 48 hours which I did not hence the reason for my call. The lady then said that it can take up to 30 days for it to be processed, but then on the very same day later in the afternoon, I got a notification on e-filing to say a ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT was done, and it has a R0.00 where it had R- 7580 that last time,what does that mean, does it mean that I know get nothing? or does is mean that they are still busy with my return?

Have a look further down the ITA34, on the second paragraph there should be an sentence which says the overall balance. You can also request a statement of account from the "SARS correspondence" tab and click on historic IT notices to see your overall balance.
