Tax refund on a contract position

I worked for a company from end of May 2015 to end of September 2015 on a maternity leave contract basis. The gross of this contract was over R33 000. Can I claim tax return on this and if so, do I get a payout?

Did they deduct any tax and issue you with an IRP5?

Yes they deducted tax and I received the IRP5 for yesterday. The gross salary for the four months was R33694.

If this is your only income or if you earned less than R73 500 for the entire year then yes you will be able to claim this money back as you were probably over taxed anyway.
