SARS assessment concluded

What does "your assessment has been concluded" mean? Yet the call centre says they are awaiting supporting documentation?

It means the original assessment has been finished, but you need to upload supporting documents onto eFiling. You would have received a letter asking you for this. You can also see something on your Income Tax Working Page which says, "Documents under review" for more info on what they want to see proof of.

Hi Tim

I have submitted supporting documents but its been 2 weeks already.

Does this mean they are still checking them?

Also, how will I know if the monies owed to me will be paid out? What will the status say on the Income tax Work Page?

You will receive a Letter of Completion from SARS. If there has been no adjustment to the assessment it will say so and your original ITA34 will reflect the amount due or due by. If there has been a change then an additional or revised ITA34 will be issued. You will be able to see by the ITSA - Statement of Account whether an amount is owing or is owed. The negative sign means it is owed to you as a refund.

Unfortunately once in the audit process these matters can take time, so you need to be patient.
