Is claiming petrol allowed if I have a travel allowance? I use my car now and then for work..I claim the km's driven and I get reimbursed. Does this fall under car allowance?

If you are reimbursed per km then that amount will include all the petrol costs, what source code appears on your IRP5?

Income received 3601, 3703

Income received cont 3696, 3697, 3698

The source code 3703 should equal the source code 3696 which means it is a reimbursive amount you are not taxed on and therefore cannot claim a deduction for fuel against.
