My current employer underpaid my tax each month from June last year until Feb, now I owe SARS money

My current employer underpaid my tax by not taking into consideration that I worked before I started the job here. Now I have to pay in approximately R1300 on my tax. I began my job here June 2014, I only started working full time Jan 2014 as I was studying prior to that. Can I hold my current employer accountable for this amount as they knew I was working prior to taking up my position here and never took that into consideration when paying PAYE for me?

No unfortunately you cannot, the usual practice is to take off the PAYE as per the tax tables. It would have been up to you to instruct them to deduct more PAYE than the required amount.
