Meals fringe benefit for tax purposes?

I have to travel to clients a lot for work, the company has agreed to pay for my lunch when I am on the road during business hours, will this be a fringe benefit for me?

Yes it will become a fringe benefit to you either as a subsistence allowance or a normal fringe benefit. However it is still more affordable as you will pay tax at your marginal rate of tax as opposed to having to spend the entire amount out of a smaller salary.
