If you get a a lump sum payment, for example as a trustee, in a form of remuneration what is the tax

How is that amount taxed, e.g you get paid R500 000 as a remuneration a once off payment.

If it is for remuneration then you would be taxed as a normal taxpayer. This amount would be added to all your other income and taxed according to the tax tables.
