I was unemployed for 3 months last tax year, how does that effect my tax?

I was unemployed for 3 months last tax year, how does that effect my tax? In short I only recieved a salary for 9 months. Will I be liable to pay in any additional tax? Are there forms that I need to fill in, because I never claimed unemployment.
