Mick says: 3 November 2015 at 20:23 Hi, my Domestic worker has been coming in every day, but for two weeks now she has been refusing to do the washing and ironing, she only tidies the bedrooms and leaves, when I spoke to her regarding this she said we don't pay her enough to do the rest anymore, although her salary is a lot higher than min wage, today she said that she is done and I need to let her go, she wants pension and back taxes from me now, although she was under the bracket.. I have no idea how to handle this situation, please help! |

TaxTim says: 4 November 2015 at 8:36 Technically the only thing you needed to do was pay UIF of 1% from her wage and you would contribute 1% as well. I am not sure what she means about back taxes as the amount is too small to pay any tax. You would need to speak to a lawyer about the pension, but there is no requirement that you need to contribute towards a pension fund for her. You may have to go to the Department of Labour and pay the outstanding UIF. |
