Confusion with respect to IRP5 given by company and battling with SARS eFiling

I have gone through the completion of the IRP5 but my question relates to the actual IRP5. Ive been battling to complete it on SARS eFiling because it talks of source codes that are not corresponding. Also wrt my actual IRP5, last year in August I earned commission. This was above my normal monthly salary. My IRP5 form given by my employer does not reflect my monthly earnings only the commission and corresponding source code. I am baffled.

Is there no 3601 source code on your IRP5?

That is where my confusion comes from and I did not want to ask employer (coz I did not want to sound dumb).

I would have thought it would give my basic salary earnings and the commission (which I only earned in August last year)

The code on there is 3606 and it only lists the commission.

You must go back to your employer and request them to change the IRP5 to reflect the true earnings. Salaried earnings are shown as source code 3601, you must also find out if the correct PAYE has been paid over to SARS on your behalf.

Thank you I will do that. My employer is very good with tax matters so I do not suspect any 'foul' but I just want to be clear before speaking to them:

Would I be right in saying that my 2012/2013 IRP5 should have listed my salaried earnings under source code 3601 AND my commission (earned then) under 3606?

That is correct, those are the right source codes.
