Can your employer ask you to pay a fee (R40) to email a duplicate copy of your IRP5 to you?

Can your employer ask you to pay a fee (R40) to email a duplicate copy of your IRP5 to you? Is this best practice or legislated? if this information is yours already why then do they have a right to charge you for what is rightfully yours?

No they cannot legally request money from you for a copy of your IRP5 which they have an obligation to provide you.

So even they have provided you with one copy already and you would like another, can they charge you for the extra copy?

As a company they can do whatever they wish to, but there is no legal framework which allows them to charge you an additional fee. It must therefore be their company policy, but nothing something set out in the Tax legislation. They should be providing you this for free.
