Can I claim for medical expenses if I have no income?

I was retrenched last year at the end of January 2015. I have not worked since then but I have been paying medical aid privately. How do I claim (or can I claim) for all my medical expenses?

You cannot claim unfortunately because you need to be earning money to pay tax to be able to claim a medical credit.

My husband works and is a on the medical aid (I am the main member and the funds are deducted privately from my account which he transfers too)...could he claim the medical aid through his tax return?

If he finally supports you then he can claim, you would need to demonstrate this to SARS though.
