Audit complete, still no refund from SARS?

I filed my return on 07/01/2015. I received no communication from sars until 02/02/2015 informing me I was selected for an audit. I submitted all required documents. I received the letter of completion of audit on 23/02/2015. My statement still shows the same refund amount, but since then no refund was paid.

They usually take 5-7 working days to pay out once the completion letter has been sent. Otherwise call 0800 00 7277 to check if your banking details are correct.

7 days later, still no refund and now when I call SARS they are talking about a stop that was placed on the payment. I was told it will take 60 days. What is going on?

That is when they are unsure of the actual account, you can request them to remove the stop - phone back and try this. Let us know what they say.

I phoned today and I am told my return is going through a refund audit and what was completed was the audit. The lady who assisted me does not seem to know much about the refund audit.

This is the second stage of the audit process. Please read our blog on why you may have a delayed refund from SARS to get a better understanding of this process.
