Are students with no income eligible to pay tax on gift money from family living abroad?

I'm a student with no form of income as my parents are paying for my studies. My aunt from the USA sometimes transfers money to me as a gift. How much can she send annually before it becomes eligible for tax?

If she sends you a gift and it is to help pay for studies or going out etc then it won't become taxable. If you are concerned then keep the total amount under R67 111 each year.
