Are orthodontist expenses tax deductible?

Can I claim tax on an orthodontist expense for my child's braces? They are not covered by medical aid.

Yes, you're able to claim it under the out of pocket medical expenses section, on your tax return. Kindly ensure that you have each invoice, just in case SARS asks for proof of these expenses.
