I've just started at a company doing part time work (22nd May). I get paid on an hourly basis, and the amount hours I work is up to me (very flexible - I am a student). I work about 120 hours a month which returns over R10 000 per month. Since it wont be a fixed amount every month (could be less, could be up to R16K), am I provisional tax payer? The first IRP6 is at the end of August, how would I go about handling this?
Would I be expected to pay 25% of all the income from June 2013- February 2014, on payment #2 IRP6 (February 2014)?...

Hi Tim, We used a False Vat Number but since then registered for VAT, we have amended all our invoices to the clients. What are the implications of using a temporary false vat number?
We have amended the invoices to not include vat until we get our VAT number, should we submit these to the clients and run the risk of having to pay back the VAT or should we wait till we receive our vat number and then re-submit the invoices with our new vat number on ? Please can you offer some advise ...

I work on a contract basis(Service Level Agreement) for a company, I only do contract work for them and no other company. I get paid per service rendered and working hours are anything from 6 to 14 hours a day, 5 to 6 days a week. My salary differ each month ranging from R14 000 to R35 000.
