I work from my home office as a graphic designer. My annual income is under R500 000. This is the second year in a row I've been selected for verification. Any idea why and what does it mean? What should I be doing differently to prevent being flagged? Is it a reflection I'm doing something wrong?
Hi I am putting in my tax return - my question is I am on my husband's medical aid. Do I include all this information in my tax return? We are on a hospital plan and he puts in all our Dr's bills on his tax return. Please let me know asap.
Gap Cover on IRP5: Hi Tim, I am trying to submit my IRP5 but my employer added my Medical Gap Cover to my Source Code 4005. According to my IRP5 under code 4005: R33672, but according to my statement from my medical aid it is R26606. Must I leave it as is? They contribute only a portion and my amounts under 3810 & 4474 are R26172. What must I do?
I have submitted my Irp5 at a SARS office which I have received June 2015. They informed me that I am being audited and that I had to submit certain documents which I did. After submitting the consultant told me that my tax return would be paid out in 3 working days. It had been more than a week so I phoned SARS to ask what is taking so long. They then informed me that because I was audited the pay out will take 30 days and also that I have an outstanding IRP5 from 2010 that I have to submit that before I can receive my tax return. ...
I just filed my tax return and they selected me for verification. All my documentation that I have is correct. This has never happened before, can it be because I have joined a medical scheme in this financial year that they require the relevant information? I did not have a medical in previous years?
I manually submitted my tax return. I was identified for audit. Third time in a row.... I think its because I am a foreign national. I submitted my IRP5, medical aid tax certificate and retirement annuity.
My question is do l have to submit all the receipts from the pharmacy when there was a co-payment? Or is my medical aid tax certificate enough?
Was hoping you can assist filed my tax return yesterday and SARS is basically stating that I owe them R10,000 within in a year, I know this is untrue as every month I have been paying tax. Hello I submitted my tax return and it said that I was due a refund of about R800. I then went through my medical expenses and saw I made a mistake in my calculations. So I went and corrected it (originally my medical expenses out of pocket was R8900, after I corrected it it was about R8200). Now it says I owe them about R200! I do not earn enough to do e-filing in the first place, I submit because of my medical expenses. Please help?!
What kind of supporting documents do I need as proof for medical expenses out of my own pocket? I had hospital expenses where I received a statement indicating the amount paid by the medical aid and the amount I had to pay in. On the statement it shows the payments made by me (I made monthly payments).
Is this sufficient proof of my payments? What proof do I need for my monthly prescription medicine (my medical aid does not cover my medicine). I paid out of my own pocket each time. ...
I've just started my first job as a finance intern and I earn R120 000 p/a. I do not have medical aid, I only have a pension fund, UIF and a union levy. I want to know if I should also register for SARS eFilling to submit my tax return. When does one have to submit a tax return?
I am somewhat panicked after receiving a "Verification of Income Tax Return" notice and a "Request for Relevant Material" notice. The problem arose (I think) under amounts submitted to, but not recovered from, my medical aid. I have now submitted the certificate from my medical aid reflecting the amount, however, I still do not have access to my IRP5/IT3(a) from my employer. I am very worried as I have never had any issues with SARS.
I submitted my Tax Return to SARS, on the 03/07/2015. On the same day I received the notification that I was yet again for a second year in a row being audited. Since it was the weekend I could only submit the required documents on the 06/07/2015. I have been waiting 7 working days now for some sort of email/sms from SARS saying that my refund is on its way, (last year tax season, it took them 2 days after the notification to get my refund in). All that they are querying is my Medical Aid Tax. ...
I earn a gross salary of R17,000. 00 a month and have no deductions except for PAYE and UIF, I do however, have a medical aid which is paid by me and does not reflect on my salary slip. Will I be able to claim from SARS? Do I need to submit a tax return? I've been employed at my company for 5 years and have never submitted a tax return.
Awesome service - well done on this easy to follow and easy to understand website!
I have completed my tax return on the 2nd of July. I then received an IT34 Assessment which stated that my tax will be verified. I submitted the Medical aid and Retirement Annuity tax certificates as support documentation since these were the only ones I received. In my tax return my IRP5's was already logged - I did not receive any other ones I only have the three in total and they were on my form already...
