I am hard of hearing and have completed the SARS disability form with my doctors help. When I was working I was registered with a disability but now I am not working is it possible for me to
be listed as a dependent on my husband as he supports me?

Is it possible for you to deduct your money of R249 from the money that I will get from SARS?

My problem is, I submitted my tax return in 2014 via TaxTim but I have not received anything from SARS. My colleagues earning the same salary have received some money from SARS in 2015. They have submitted their tax return via other agents.

The code 3802 appears on my IRP5 under Income Received. Can I claim anything back against this?
I am provided with a company vehicle, on my payslip an amount for taxable perks appears.

Medical contribution 4005 but my employer doesn't pay

Good day
My employer doesn't contribute to my medical aid, however under code 4005 on my IRP5 my medical contributions I paid in my personal capacity are shown. Is this correct? If not can I change it myself on IRP5 to R0 when doing my return and put that figure that appeared under 4005 to 4040?

Hi Tim,

I submitted my tax return on the 1st of July and immediately got my IR34 form and thought everything was in order. When calling the call centre yesterday they told me my refund will be held back because I didn't submit my return for 2007??

I have a second property and have family living there who do not pay rent. I incur the expenses for levies, rates and taxes etc. Can I off-set this loss against my other income or is this not possible because I have family living there?

July 2014-Feb 2015 I was a recruitment consultant. I did not receive a salary, I simply paid a R5000 desk cost per month, which I believe I can claim back for. In the 8 months, I only earned 3 amounts, all adding up to approximately R40 000. How do I submit a tax return- I had no salary, I can claim for desk cost and flights, and I earned very little?

Tax deduction for professional body membership

Good day Tim

I have forgotten to claim membership fees to a professional body as a deduction in the 2013/2014 tax year. Can I claim it in this 2014/2015 tax year?

Also if money is spent on CPD (required to maintain membership to a professional body), is this deductable for tax purposes?

Can I still file a tax return even when I don't need to? And how would I go about doing that?

I'm trying to apply for residency into Panama and one of the requirements in a Panamian Bank account. However the banks over there require tax returns for the past 2 years in my home country. I haven't filed income tax returns for the past 2 years because ive been traveling the world (backpacking) for the past 4 years doing online work and never earned more than R70,000 a year anyway so I never need to file. Will SARS refund if the old banking details are used and the account is closed?

I went to SARS to change my banking details. . Was told it was submitted. Bt when I file. It will automatically pull out the old banking details. Of which the account is closed. . Should I do eFiling. Will the bank reverse it to SARS and thy can do a refund in my account? Please help. .

I resigned from a company called Ogatin in 2009 and never claimed any tax while working for it, now I'm working for another company which I started last year in May. My question is when I claim tax from SARS this year will I get money from the previous company as well if they owe me?

REIT treatment and provisional tax

I received a REIT dividend source code 4238 on my unit trust IT3B it is very little only R30. Are Reits exempt? Also I read the ITR12 handbook and they suggest I put it under other income/accruals 4214 code with description "income from a REIT". Is this right?

I'm worried they will make me a provisional tax payer due to this extra and only R30 that dosent come from my employment income or local exempt dividends, interest. I dont really want the extra admin issues due to this small amo...

Medical aid refund but had no income in 2015

I had no income for 2015 tax year, but paid medical aid for 8 months plus extra out-of-pocket medical expenses. Am I entitled to some money back from SARS? I am 57 years old.
